The heat is still on and people are still outraged by the public display of GoDaddy CEO Bob Parson’s “elephant-killing” skills. Namecheap had even jumped on the bandwagon with some smart marketing by promoting their BYEBYEGD coupon code at $4.99. Originally they have only made their coupon valid for 24 hours, but due to the outpouring of support (I believe outraged animal lovers of the elephant kind are moving their domains away to Namecheap in droves), they extended it to April 4th at 11.59pm EST. There are only a few hours left, so grab it while you still have the time.
Transferring from GoDaddy, however, can be a real pain in the arse. They really have the worst web GUI interface for a domain registrar. I suspect that they have purposely done this to discourage people from transferring domains arbitrarily. Then again, even with the GoDaddy interface as it is, its quite simple to transfer your domains away from GoDaddy if you know the steps to take.
